This article highlights opportunities in <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-color-2-color\">science<\/mark><\/strong>, <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-color-2-color\">arts<\/mark><\/strong>, and <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-color-2-color\">health <\/mark><\/strong>where young people can learn, create, and make a difference.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-color-2-color\"><strong>Science&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\"><strong>ZEPS<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\">ZEPS (&#8220;Scientific educational programs for high school students&#8221;) is a non-profit&nbsp;&nbsp;organization\u202ffor the popularization of science and the education of young people in the field of science. Through their projects, they want to enable young people to learn about science in an accessible\u202fway and collaborate with professors and experts by researching areas that interest them. Their long-term goal is to create a network of communication and cooperation between high\u202fschool students and colleges in Croatia. By connecting interested high school students with professors\u202ffrom various faculties of the University of Zagreb,\u202fthey\u202fenable young people to learn about\u202fscience and experience what scientific research, laboratory work and scientific communication\u202flook like. Through the association, students\u202fcome into contact with\u202fprofessors and\u202fget the opportunity to develop their own project or work on an existing project at the university. With an individual approach, the professors mentor the students and help them in the realization\u202fof their research work or project,\u202fwhich, depending on the agreement of the student and\u202fthe mentor, can be presented in front of other participants in the form of a science fair at the end\u202fof the collaboration. The project gives students the opportunity to get to know the field of&nbsp;&nbsp;science\u202fthey are interested in and to see what that field looks like first hand. In this way, in&nbsp;&nbsp;addition\u202fto gaining work skills and experience in a scientific research environment, students also get\u202fa clearer picture of whether that field is something they would like to pursue in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\">Current\u202fprojects\u202fwhich are\u202favailable\u202ffocus on chemistry and biology in collaboration with faculties such as PMF (Prirodoslovno\u202fmatemati\u010dki\u202ffakultet\u202f(Faculty of Science)), FKIT (Fakultet\u202fkemijskog in\u017einjerstva\u202fi\u202ftehnologije\u202f(Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology)), U\u010diteljski\u202ffakultet (Faculty of Teacher Education), and PBF (Prehrambeno-biolo\u0161kifakultet\u202f(Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology)). The projects vary from topics such as \u201cBiocatalysis, i.e. application\u202fenzymes as biological catalysts in implementation of different chemical reaction\u201d, \u201cGrain processing and new technologies in the production of cereal products\u201d, \u201cFood packaging materials, from synthetic (plastic) up to biodegradable and edible materials\u201d, and \u201cEcology of freshwater\u202fmicroinvertebrates\u201d.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\">Whether students have experience in the \u201cscience world\u201d or not, and\u202fwhether\u202fthey are familiar with scientific language, laboratories, etc. doesn\u2019t prevent them from signing\u202fup. Their long-term goal is to establish\u202fa Science Museum, as a unique place where children and young people, as well as people\u202fwith special needs, will encounter the rich knowledge, discoveries and achievements that\u202fhave brought human civilization to the point of development where it is today. The activities of\u202fthe MUZZA Association are therefore intended for preschoolers, elementary\u202fschool students, high school\u202fstudents,\u202fand\u202funiversity\u202fstudents, and cooperation is carried out with experts from all parts of the educational\u202fsystem, with a special emphasis on teachers of science subjects. Through their projects, they popularize science through fun, socializing, research, and experiments, as well as representing\u202fand supporting talented students and their inventions. In addition, they create humanitarian\u202fprojects aimed at educating target groups and collaborate with partners\u202ffrom\u202fCroatia, Europe and the world to make science accessible to everyone. The humanitarian project &#8220;RUKSACI MALIH STRA\u017dIVA\u010cA&#8221; (\u201cBACKPACKS OF LITTLE RESEARCHERS\u201d) is underway, intended\u202ffor primary schools in\u202fGlina,\u202fPetrinja\u202fand\u202fDvor. These are backpacks that will contain a collection\u202fof popularly written books in the field of natural sciences intended for children from the&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\">5th\u202fto the 8th grade of elementary school. Along with the books, each backpack will contain a toy\u202frelated to programming and robotics. The project is planned to cover nine schools from the mentioned\u202fcities and include about a hundred students who show\u202fa special interest in natural sciences. The goal of this project is to provide each school with at least two backpacks for\u202fyoung science\u202fresearchers and thus support children whose schools and school libraries were damaged\u202fin the earthquake. It\u202fis planned\u202fthat the project intended for the earthquake-affected area\u202fof\u202fthe\u202fSisak-Moslavina\u202fCounty will be completed by the end of April. It acts as an amateur film platform that supports complete author&#8217;s freedom, and with free\u202faccess to film knowledge and tools, it enables all interested citizens to engage in film. KKZ has\u202fbecome a gathering place for film enthusiasts, as well as former amateurs who have developed\u202finto professionals, and\u202fstill\u202ftoday, its work attracts and encourages new talents. In fact, the greatest significance of KKZ lies precisely in its members and their productive\u202fimpulse. In addition to enabling the creation of a film, the club also takes care of it in terms of its realization\u202f- each finished film enters into the impressive tradition of the club&#8217;s creativity, and each\u202fauthor becomes a participant in the club&#8217;s history, and therefore in the history of Croatian cinema. KKZ enables and encourages togetherness and innovation within all club activities for the\u202fpurpose of improving the quality of content and positioning within the wider cultural scene as a\u202fcenter\u202fof innovative auteur film activity. If someone does not have experience working on films or\u202ffilm education, the only requirement for membership is to have completed the Film School of&nbsp;&nbsp;the\u202fCinema Club Zagreb. The KKZ film school is a beginner&#8217;s workshop where basic\u202fknowledge of\u202fscreenwriting, direction, camera, lighting and editing is acquired. The theoretical basis is worked\u202fupon, which is then tested in practice by recording in groups or independently. Under the\u202fsupervision of their mentors, the\u202fparticipants\u202flearn the basics of directing, translate their ideas into scripts, and then learn about production processes and shoot their first short film. Upon successful\u202fcompletion of the Film School, you will join the other members of KKZ. However, if\u202fyou have no experience in filmmaking whatsoever, you can contact them about your interest also\u202fvia their\u202femail.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\"><strong>\u202f&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-custom-color-2-color\"><strong>Health&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\"><strong>&#8216;Dodir&#8217; (Hrvatski\u202fsavez\u202fgluhoslijepih\u202fosoba)<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-superbfont-medium-font-size\">\u2018Dodir\u2019 (&#8216;Touch&#8217;) is a national, non-governmental and non-profit organization with the aim&nbsp;&nbsp;of\u202fenabling dignified and equal coexistence of deaf-blind people in the social community. Their goal\u202fis to promote the interests of deaf-blind people in the Republic of Croatia and abroad by realizing\u202ftheir basic human rights to education, rehabilitation, communication and socialization. Four things are most important to them: belief, respect, support, and provision. They believe in the\u202funiqueness and potential of each individual, their gifts, wants, and needs. They respect the dignity\u202fand right of every person to lifelong learning and development, the right to self-\u202fdetermination\u202fand choice. They support the diversity of the needs of each individual and\u202f provide\u202fthem with individual programs and services.\u202fThey provide support to the individual\u202f\u202f and\u202fencourage self-help activities\u202fin order to reach the desired levels of skills and independence\u202fthat lead to an improvement in the quality of life. From the very beginning, \u2018Dodir\u2019 has based its activities on the real needs of deaf-blind people and their family members, especially\u202fwith the aim of ensuring and providing quality support in access to information, communication, movement and social interaction. The main skill that\u202fis taught\u202fthere is sign language\u202f(there are\u202fsign language courses you can take and then after you decide whether you want\u202fto go on and continue studying sign language).
